The Scope of Ethics Research for an Old Population

However, a special approach to researchResearch ethics is mandatory to address the special needs of this particularly vulnerable group. In this chapter, we revisit the international ethical framework for researchResearch in persons to later discuss specific concerns related to the principles of autonomyAutonomy, dignityDignity, vulnerabilityVulnerability, and justice in the context of physician–patient relationships, power relations, social responsibilities, and historical older people exclusions.
