It analyzes receive diversity techniques like selection combining, equal gain combining, and maximal ratio combining using a simple receiver with multiple antennas. Next, it explores information theoretic limits on achievable data rates and the trade-off between data rate and reliability. An overview of transmit diversity schemes is then provided.
