Enhancing Internationalization of Higher Education through Visibility and Mobility Programs: Critical Views

  • Aicha Adoui

摘要

The 21st century has seen a significant rise in the importance of internationalization within higher education, necessitating a global perspective on educational strategies and policies. This chapter examines the current state of internationalization in Morocco, drawing on a sample study of Mohammed First University in Morocco, focusing on two institutions: the English departments at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences in Oujda and the Multidisciplinary Faculty of Nador. Through an analysis of students’ perspectives and institutional practices, this chapter explores the challenges and opportunities in enhancing internationalization efforts. Despite the modest investment in internationalization relative to promotional claims and university branding, this study highlights potential strategies for improving visibility and mobility programs. By aligning these efforts with contemporary approaches and best practices in global education, this chapter provides actionable recommendations for Moroccan higher education institutions to foster cross-cultural engagement and academic collaboration.
