In recent years, with the progress of the times, the aging problem has become a significant issue of attention in various countries. As aging progresses, various factors may make the sustainability and operation of social systems difficult. Such issues are known as the “2025 Cliff,” and it is anticipated that economic losses amounting to billions of dollars will occur by 2025. In this study, the authors conducted research and analysis on Japan’s aging problem and system obsolescence. The study aims to clarify the “2025 Cliff” issue, explore its causes and solutions, and examine how the promotion of Digital Transformation (DX) falls short to function as one of the solutions. It also considers the risk of recurrence in the next 30 to 50 years. Furthermore, based on the three current steps of DX promotion, the study explores methods for integrating AI technology into DX promotion and also we researches AIDX, which further evolves the foundation of the current digitalization efforts. This approach aims to solve difficulties in labor shortages, system upgrades, the subsequent operation and maintenance, ultimately achieving long-term economic and social benefits.
