摘要
How are changesPan american games in urbanSantiago economyBarranquilla and urban planningUrban planning, and the urban transformationsUrban transformations induced, directly or indirectly, by the realization of urban events such as the Pan American GamesPan american games? The cases of two Latin American cities chosen as venues for the event are compared: SantiagoSantiago 2023 (ChileChile) and BarranquillaBarranquilla 2027 (ColombiaColombia). The proposed study methodologyMethodology is divided into two parts. One of them addresses the actions of public policy and public-private partnerships, in their interaction with the urban strategies of the event and the current urban planningUrban planning. The other part of the work focuses on the articulation of the urban event with the socio-spatial organization and the mobility infrastructure. It is concluded that the event's work plan tends to move away from the urban agenda and has little relation with urban planningUrban planning, so it is essential to determine what are the interests of the agents involved in the process and how their actions are articulated with the type of event chosen.
