The article gives a brief overview of a joint mission of climate protection. Starting with the international frame—UNFCCC over Kyoto Protocol via the landmark Paris Agreement to the European Green Deal. The Green Deal is the flagship initiative of the EU and links the goal of economic growth with climate and environmental protection, bringing together its energy and climate policy by fixing EU-wide targets as well as long-term strategies. To be climate-neutral by 2050, it is important to foster sustainable development and efficient management of natural resources, such as natural gas, soil, food and air. As it is a global mission not only due to global supply chains, all stakeholders (States, Industry, Science) need to contribute to climate change mitigation, and adaption, as well as sustainable energy. As we can see in different sectors, the energy crises caused by European neighbours have revealed dependencies that can adversely affect the competitiveness of the whole EU industry. The time for joint action is now. More steps and actions must follow. All nations must pull together and stand united to contribute to a sustainable future for our next generations.
