Any items on the Senate Legislative Calendar that are scheduled for a Third Reading can be brought to the floor for debate and passage, which will result in the final reading of the bill. In the U.S. Senate, 48 hours must pass after the final committee reports a bill out before it can be brought to the floor. Once brought to the floor, the actions on the bill are considered privileged and must be addressed before moving on to other issues.
