Physically Unclonable Functions

This chapter explores Physically Unclonable Functions (PUFs) and their application in hardware security. PUFs use unique and uncontrollable physical variations in integrated circuits to provide secure device authentication and cryptographic key generation. It explores different types of PUFs, such as strong and weak PUFs, and their applications in securing IoT devices. It also examines the metrics used to evaluate PUF quality, including uniqueness, reliability, and randomness.
