Lightweight PUF Protocols
摘要
This chapter introduces lightweight security protocols based on Physically Unclonable Functions (PUFs). These protocols are specifically designed for mutual authentication and secure message exchange in resource-constrained environments. The chapter discusses various protocols, including the Advanced PUF Protocol, which offers resilience against modeling attacks and exhaustive challenge collection. Additionally, it explores different challenge-response mechanisms that enhance security without increasing computational overhead. Detailed implementation insights, including FPGA-based systems, are provided to demonstrate how lightweight PUF-based protocols can be deployed in IoT devices and other resource-limited systems to achieve robust security.
