摘要

As a process of problem solving, design thinking (DT) has been applied across various disciplines to help engage students in developing creative and innovative solutions to open societal problems. DT shares much in common with learning experience design and instructional design due to their common focus on end users’ experiences. This chapter reports a research project on the application of DT across three disciplines to inform pedagogical approaches to teaching DT to college students. A group of university faculty engaged in a collaborative self-study and iteratively developed four DT cases in education, anthropology, software engineering, and machine learning. Those four DT cases and the comparison of those cases are shared and discussed in this chapter.
