Discovery and Creativity

We close this discussion with some philosophical thoughts on the meanings of discovery and creativity, and the role of artificial intelligence therein, to provide some food for thought and reflection. Unlike the material in the rest of this book, the contents of this chapter will necessarily be more subjective, qualitative, speculative and perhaps even controversial, reflecting my own personal experiences, possible biases and judgements, and will stray somewhat from the realm of chemistry and materials science.
