Adaptive Fuzzy Control of the Technological Process for Ethyl Tert-Butyl Ether Synthesis

The article develops a system of adaptive fuzzy control of the technological process of synthesis of ethyl-tert-butyl ether (ETBE). The technological scheme is investigated, the block diagram of the adaptive fuzzy control system for the synthesis of ethyl-tert-butyl ether is developed. To implement self-tuning fuzzy controllers, an algorithm is used where the defuzzification methods will change depending on the input parameters of the fuzzy controllers. Fuzzy controllers using the defuzzification method switching algorithm can be called self-tuning because they can automatically select the most effective defuzzification method for specific control system conditions. This allows achieving optimal system performance without the need for manual tuning of controller parameters depending on changing conditions. The bases of control rules have been developed and conceptual models for four fuzzy controllers providing effective process control are presented. The design of the adaptive control scheme of fuzzy controllers for controlling the initial values in the specified ranges in the Matlab environment has been carried out.
