In the last chapter, we discussed plane waves and how they reflect of conductors. In this chapter, we discuss closed structures bounded by conductors, the pipes called waveguides and cavities called resonators. These can carry and store electromagnetic (EM) waves which oscillate at frequencies defined by the geometry of the conductor. We study modes of the Maxwell equations in these structures.

摘要

In the last chapter, we discussed plane waves and how they reflect of conductors. In this chapter, we discuss closed structures bounded by conductors, the pipes called waveguides and cavities called resonators. These can carry and store electromagnetic (EM) waves which oscillate at frequencies defined by the geometry of the conductor. We study modes of the Maxwell equations in these structures.
