Input-Output Analysis
摘要
Wassily Leontief’s Input-Output (IO) framework redefined economic analysis by uncovering the interdependencies in modern economies. This approach moves beyond conventional models to spotlight sector connections and the flow of goods, services, and resources. The model’s strength lies in enabling insight into how changes in one sector trigger spillover effects. This framework has versatile applications. It evaluates policy consequences, and dissects supply chain dynamics. Despite some limitations of the traditional model such as assumptions of constant technical coefficients and linear sector relationships, its static nature, and the neglect of behavioral aspects in decision-making, the IO framework highlights economic interdependencies. Its capacity to unravel interdependencies and guide policy decisions underscores its value for economists, policymakers, and researchers.
