These disturbances significantly affect the economic and social conditions of coastal communities, making it essential to explore nature-based remedies for comprehensive socio-ecologic-economic progression. The decline of coastal ecosystems, specifically wetlands and coral reefs, carries severe consequences for societies reliant upon these systems. Many coastal inhabitants rely heavily on fishing as their primary means of subsistence; however, alterations in the abundance and quality of stocks resulting from modifications in climatic patterns, whether naturally occurring or induced by humans, pose direct threats to these individuals’ welfare. Additionally, there has been a rise in salt levels within soil, water, and wind, accompanied by a decrease in native plant and animal species critical to preserving a balanced environment capable of delivering various benefits like cleaner water sources (ground and surface), improved air quality, efficient nutrient cycling, and enhanced spiritual and cultural experiences. Adopting an eco-friendly strategy centered around community involvement and indigenous customs, particularly those focused on biological diversity, represents the ideal method for strengthening environmental protection while simultaneously increasing the resilience of people and occupations along coastlines. To address the urgent concerns surrounding marine habitats effectively, it is crucial to engage multiple parties, including but not limited to representatives from forestry, fisheries, and climate change divisions, State Disaster Management Authorities, neighbourhood organizations, and active citizens. Furthermore, developing robust plans for public integration into the design and execution of nature-based interventions will play a significant role in conserving the ecosystem and enhancing community members’ preparedness for potential hazards. Incorporating natural barriers such as densely packed tree lines and thriving mangrove ecosystems serve as valuable buffers, safeguarding adjacent communities and shoreline regions against harm. Moreover, promoting financial growth through diverse revenue streams and alternative professions rooted in responsible resource management, habitat conservation, and upkeep via traditional methods contributes to mutually beneficial results. Robust ecosystems provide numerous organic and non-organic materials necessary to support life sustainably.
