Nature-based approaches leverage the inherent resilience and efficiency of ecosystems to foster sustainability across the supply chain. These approaches encompass a range of strategies, including but not limited to agro-ecology, biomimicry, green infrastructure, and circular economy principles. Agro-ecology, as a nature-based approach, emphasizes regenerative agricultural practices that optimize ecosystem services, reduce reliance on synthetic inputs, and enhance soil health. Circular economy principles, NBAs advocate for a closed-loop system where materials are reused, recycled, or repurposed, minimizing waste generation. As societies transition towards a more sustainable future, the adoption of nature-based approaches for consumption and production emerges as a vital strategy.
