Motivation and Theoretical Overview

This chapter sets the stage for understanding the subsequent experimental results by providing a brief historical context and a summary of the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. Gaps in the SM are highlighted to motivate the ongoing search for new physics (NP) beyond the Standard Model (BSM).
