Motivation: The Desire to Innovate

Individual motivation and creativity play pivotal roles in the realm of inventions and innovations, serving as the driving forces behind groundbreaking discoveries and transformative advancements. At the core of any significant breakthrough lies the fervent desire of an individual to push the boundaries of knowledge and explore uncharted territories. This intrinsic motivation fuels the relentless pursuit of solutions to existing problems or the envisioning of entirely novel concepts that challenge the status quo. In this chapter, amongst others, we give a path-goal model for motivation and creative action and discuss this in the context of some standard motivation and management theories.
