Afterword

This chapter speculates on the ever-evolving relationship between museums and neo-Victorianism, and what this might mean for disability afterlives. It discusses, as an illustrative example of this emerging relationship, the Royal London Hospital Museums audio tour ‘I am Human’, and reviews this considering current cultural and political shifts. The tour highlights that both neo-Victorian fiction writers and museum curators are implicated in their own omissions, their curation of history, and sensationalising preferences, and indeed, as this chapter explores, the mirror reflects both ways.
