Role of Mesotherapy in Nondermatological Diseases

  • Esraa M. AlEdani

摘要

Chapter 4 discusses the application of mesotherapy in treating nondermatological diseases, focusing on its effectiveness in pain management and musculoskeletal disorders. Mesotherapy, a minimally invasive procedure involving microinjections of active substances into the dermis, is explored as a treatment for various types of pain, including acute and chronic pain. The chapter details how mesotherapy provides localized drug delivery, which can be more effective and have fewer side effects compared to systemic therapies, particularly in conditions like osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Additionally, mesotherapy’s potential role in treating cellulitis, gingival hyperpigmentation, and burns is examined, highlighting its benefits in reducing inflammation, promoting healing, and improving aesthetic outcomes. Despite its growing use, the chapter notes that more research is needed to fully understand the long-term efficacy and safety of mesotherapy in these applications.
