Intellectual History, Philosophy, Literature: What I Learned from Stephen Gaukroger

This paper looks at the way in which the author came to meet Stephen Gaukroger and, over a period of 13 years, developed a friendship, which left a long-lasting mark on him. Such mark has not been left on a human level only (a level that is not discussed if cursorily), but it has developed a decisive intellectual influence on the author despite their somewhat differing scholarly inclinations.
