Additive manufacturing (AMs) is considered a game changer over traditional processes due to their benefits in facilitating design complexity, and multi-material use, among others. However, limitations on the size of printed parts pose significant challenges for AM. Many researchers tried to address and overcome size limitations by following the path of part segmentations, though concerns related to segments joining later always arise. Thus, this paper presents a study of the efficiency of two types of physical joints printed along with part segments on the final part reliability after joining. To do so, a full factorial 2^2 design with three replicates was employed to examine the impact of two joining techniques, dovetail, and screwing, with and without the use of cyanoacrylate adhesive, on the tensile strength of assembled PLA samples. Results showed that cyanoacrylate adhesive enhances the tensile strength of assembled joints regardless of the joining technique used, dovetail and screw means.
