摘要
Blockchain technology, initially introduced through cryptocurrencies, has evolved into a powerful and adaptable tool with applications spanning diverse domains, including government services. This chapter examines blockchain technology in public administration and government, showcasing its effectiveness through real-world examples in areas such as health care, smart cities, property rights, supply chain management, and identity systems. These examples demonstrate its capacity to address complex challenges in governance and enhance efficiency, transparency, and trust. However, the adoption of blockchain in government processes is not without significant obstacles. This chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of these challenges, highlighting the critical need for tailored frameworks that align with the unique socioeconomic and regulatory landscapes of various regions. By examining practical implementations and offering strategies to overcome barriers, this chapter underscores blockchain’s potential to aid government processes and advance sustainable development initiatives.
