This study examines consumer behavior and examines what it is, what are the major movements within it, and how consumers select and purchase products and services. The paper focuses on how society, culture and language influence consumer behavior and concludes that advertisers must understand an individual’s cultural background in order to appeal to consumers. Language can influence consumer behavior and advertising effectiveness. While advertising is a powerful tool, it can be challenging when translating materials for bilingual cities. This article provides an overview of how consumer behavior is affected by the language of the population and how advertising can effectively manage multilingual advertising. A study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of advertising and the motivations behind the industry using cross-cultural and correlational research. Multilingual advertising includes multiple languages in one ad to reach a wider audience. First-hand advertising experiences will be shared about multilingual advertising and how speaking one’s native language can greatly influence consumer behavior, including increased sales and positive attitudes toward the advertised product or advertisement. Overall, this article provides strategic information for effective multilingual advertising campaigns through the language of consumers. Based on these findings, it is clear that advertising should appeal to all segments of the population, including all languages and cultures, to effectively engage consumers.
