Linguistic Cues and Persuasion in English-Language Marketing Emails: An Experimental Study
摘要
The aim of this study is a careful examination of the persuasive techniques in marketing emails that target potential customers. It focuses on the common email marketing linguistic cues such as politeness, urgency, personalization, and narrative. The research analyzed standard marketing emails which were then categorized based on linguistic cues, and persuasiveness is studied using qualitative measures. The data elicited from this research indicate that linguistic markers like personalized language, can make customers act and pay attention to the advertiser more.
