The Psychological Impact of Translation on Employee Communication: A Cross-Cultural Perspective
摘要
In this study, the psychological impact of translation on employee communication is examined from a cross-cultural perspective. Although there are studies examining how translation communication affects cognitive, affective, and motivational dimensions, the focus of this study is more on the transparency and appropriateness of intercultural communication. Since a large part of employee communication reflects today's globalization, I think it's important to emphasize the importance of effective translation during this process. Due to the lack of cross-cultural analysis, I explore this gap in translation studies to inspire translators to further bridge this gap, as translation has a huge impact on academic discourse and management practice. Based on a literature review on cross-cultural work structures, translation culture and its impact on multinational companies, I argue that ineffective communication due to poorly translated content damages employees’ trust in the source and their organizational goals and can lead to the following effects: Turnover and conflict. My findings and related research can be linked to the fields of translation studies and management practice and inform the scholarship and discipline of translation education. Building on existing research, I introduce new translational strategies and promote interdisciplinary research between the fields of organizational behavior and culture, which need to be further explored in the era of globalization.
