This study delves into the journalistic treatment of cyberbullying within the Jordanian electronic press, exploring it from the unique perspective of journalists. Amidst the digital age’s challenges, this research aims to understand how Jordanian journalists perceive their role and responsibilities when reporting on cyberbullying incidents, considering the intricate socio-cultural and legal frameworks of Jordan. Using a qualitative methodology, the study employed semi-structured interviews with 14 journalists from various Jordanian electronic newspapers. The study revealed four themes which are impact and advocacy, media educational campaigns, cautious and ethical reporting, and shaping a culture of empathy. These themes illuminate the complex interplay between journalism, societal values, and the nuanced dynamics of cyberbullying, highlighting the diverse strategies journalists employ to navigate these multifaceted issues. The findings suggest a pivotal role for the media in fostering public awareness, promoting ethical reporting, and cultivating a culture of empathy and understanding, thereby contributing to the broader efforts to combat cyberbullying in the digital landscape of Jordan.
