Variations in Protocols: Physical Therapy, Bracing, Pain Management
摘要
Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has progressed in the last 50 years with several surgical advancements and approaches to address degenerative arthritis. Ligament sparing TKA and medial pivot TKA design provide alternatives to PCL substituting designs. Early rehabilitation after TKA emphasizes quadriceps and hamstring strength including standing tolerance. Some designs including ligament sparing TKA have nuances to rehabilitation important to optimize functional recovery. This chapter explores TKA rehabilitation for Partial, PCL substituting, PCL retaining, bicruciate retaining, bicruciate substituting, medial Pivot, TKA designs.
