Ligament Gap Balancing Approach

This chapter will present the approach to total knee arthroplasty using the gap balancing technique. Some of the historical perspectives are reviewed along with a comparison to the measured resection surgeries. The pros and cons are included along with a discussion of the future technologies that may improve accuracy and address the 15–30% patient dissatisfaction rate.
