Text Clustering: Conceptual View

This chapter is concerned with the conceptual view of text clustering tasks. It is the process of segmenting a text group into subgroups each of which contains similar texts. Text clustering is divided into hard text clustering and soft text clustering, depending on whether each text is allowed to belong to more than one cluster or not. Depending on whether nested clustering is allowed or not, it is divided into flat text clustering and hierarchical text clustering. In this section, we describe text clustering with its functional view.
