Taxonomy Generation

This chapter is concerned with the taxonomy generation. It is defined as the process of generating topics from a text collection. A group of texts is segmented into subgroups by text clustering, and a representative word is selected and extracted from each cluster. Taxonomy generation is necessary for text categorization because it may be applied to automation of predefining categories.
