This chapter explores the comprehensive processes involved in the extraction and processing of Egyptian gold ore, focusing on the historical significance and modern techniques employed at sites such as the Sukari Gold Mine. The chapter commences by delineating the historical evolution of gold mining in Egypt and providing a general overview of gold ore processing and extraction. The technical aspects of gold processing and extraction are discussed in detail, covering key stages such as crushing, grinding, classification, flotation, thickening, and carbon-in-leach leaching. Particular attention is given to the methods used to optimize recovery rates, including regrinding circuits and concentrate elution. Environmental management strategies, such as tailings disposal, water conservation, and cyanide detoxification, are emphasized to highlight the industry's commitment to sustainability. The chapter concludes by discussing future prospects for gold processing and extraction in Egypt, reflecting on the potential advancements and challenges ahead.
