This study was conducted in the Nadia district of West Bengal to analyze the socio-economic profile of farmers, assess their awareness of water-soluble specialty fertilizers, examine their acceptance rate, and study the adoption rate of these fertilizers. The study employed a stratified random sampling technique with a sample size of 100 farmers. Perception, the process by which individuals interpret sensory information to assign meaning, plays a crucial role in farmers’ awareness and acceptance of water-soluble specialty fertilizers. The adoption rate is influenced by how farmers organize and interpret information, ultimately leading to the purchase and use of the product. The study found that farmers in the area had limited knowledge of water-soluble specialty fertilizers, likely due to their low availability in the market. Additionally, the predominance of field crops such as paddy, lentil, mustard, and potato meant that farmers were more familiar with the heavy application of nitrogenous fertilizers like urea.
