The Teaching Methods as a Mediating Variable Between Academic Motivation and Academic Performance in Private Education Institutions in the State of Kuwait
摘要
This study seeks to investigate the role of teaching methods as a mediating factor between academic motivation and academic performance in private educational institutions in Kuwait. Data were collected through a survey directed at undergraduate students, specifically those attending Algonquin College of Kuwait. The results reveal a significant association between innovative teaching strategies and enhanced academic performance, mediated by students’ intrinsic motivation. Students exposed to diverse learning approaches, including active learning, collaborative projects, and technology integration, demonstrated higher levels of engagement and achievement. Furthermore, the study highlights the pivotal role of academic motivation in driving students’ learning experiences and performance outcomes. Intrinsic motivation appears to be a key determinant of academic success, while extrinsic motivation exhibits varying degrees of influence depending on the effectiveness of teaching methods. The mediating role of teaching methods illustrates the dynamic interplay between motivational factors and instructional practices in shaping students’ academic trajectories. The study underscores the importance of tailored instructional strategies and professional development initiatives that aim to equip teachers with the pedagogical skills needed to meet the diverse needs of students in the private education sector in Kuwait. The findings of this study contribute to enhancing instructional practices and student-centered learning environments in private schools in Kuwait.
