Sustainable Human Resource Practices: Leveraging Green Technologies to Enhance Work–Life Balance for Women in IT Post-COVID-19
摘要
In recent years, the increasing demand for sustainability has highlighted the role of GHRM in promoting environmentally responsible practices within organizations. This research synthesizes current literature on GHRM initiatives and explores their potential to address women’s evolving work–life balance needs in the technology industry. The study investigates a range of GHRM practices, including green training, sustainable recruitment, performance appraisals aligned with environmental goals, and incentives for green behaviour, while also considering their impact on work–life balance. The unprecedented shift to remote work during the pandemic has accelerated the adoption of flexible work arrangements, aligning with GHRM principles and the desire for improved work–life balance. This research examines how HR departments can play a critical role in driving these initiatives by transforming traditional business models to prioritize both environmental management and employee well-being. The study employs a descriptive methodology, utilizing primary and secondary data sources to analyse the implementation of GHRM practices in IT companies and their effects on women employees’ work–life balance. Findings suggest that effective implementation of GHRM practices not only reduces an organization’s carbon footprint but also contributes to a more sustainable and flexible work environment that can benefit women in IT. The research highlights the potential of these practices to promote institutional resilience in the face of contemporary challenges such as climate change, economic instability, and the ongoing impact of the pandemic on work structures. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on sustainable HRM and offers insights into how organizations can align their environmental goals with strategies to support the work–life balance of their female workforce in the post-pandemic era.
