Sustainable Supplier Selection for Labelling Materials Used in a Herbicide Manufacturing Company

Sustainable Supplier Selection (SSS) plays a vital role in maintaining an integral and sustainable supply chain. SSS prioritizes economic, environmental and social elements to select the best supplier. However, a systematic sustainable supplier selection process is required to ensure an organization’s sustainability goals are achieved. Multi-criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) techniques can be employed to select the best supplier. In this paper, Fuzzy Best-Worst Method (FBWM) was used to obtain the weight of sustainable supplier selection criteria and rank the suppliers. This research is intended to identify a set of criteria for selection of sustainable supplier for bottle labels, implement FBWM to select best supplier for bottle labels and assess the reliability of FBWM by comparing the results with another MCDM technique. A case study in herbicide manufacturing company is presented in this paper where the best supplier is selected from four alternatives based on the weightage of nine selection criteria identified under three dimensions of sustainability.
