As a male writing from a consolidated discipline, I am necessarily cautious about tackling autonomy. It is not my struggle – though where there is social-philosophical reflection concerned, I am always glad to be a guest. Because for many caregivers, whether they are on the job or off duty, autonomy is exactly that: a struggle.
