摘要

The plant microbiome plays a significant role in post-harvest disease management, influencing disease development and severity after harvest. Understanding the dynamics and functions of the plant microbiome can provide valuable insights into post-harvest disease management strategies. The microbiome can influence post-harvest diseases by competing with and antagonizing pathogens, producing antimicrobial compounds, and modulating plant defence responses. Manipulating the plant microbiome through pre- and post-harvest interventions, such as biocontrol agents, sanitisers, and storage conditions, can help suppress post-harvest diseases, extend produce shelf life, and maintain its quality. Harnessing the potential of the plant microbiome in post-harvest disease management offers promising avenues for sustainable and eco-friendly approaches to enhance food safety and reduce post-harvest losses.
