Zero hunger is the second goal out of 17 Sustainable development goals (SDGs) that the United Nation hopes to meet by 2030. The Zero Hunger program seeks to eradicate hunger and ensure that everyone has access to enough nutrient-dense foods by the year 2030. Hunger is produced by a combination of environmental, social, and political reasons, not only a lack of food. Improving food security globally requires striking a balance between responsible food production, consumption, and waste reduction. Food packaging plays a critical and vital role in ensuring food safety, quality, convenience, and shelf life. Dairy packaging systems includes modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), antimicrobial packaging, edible packaging, smart/intelligent packaging, active packaging like oxygen scavenging, carbon dioxide absorbers, moisture and/or flavour/odour absorbers; releasing compounds viz., carbon dioxide, ethanol, antioxidants and/or other preservatives etc. Dairy product safety is a global public health concern that necessitates innovative methods and technologies to manage foodborne pathogenic bacteria.
