How to Diagnose Acute Myelogenous Leukemia
摘要
Acute myelogenous leukemia diagnosis requires careful integration of microscopic examination of myeloblasts. It is always important to identify morphologic features that suggest acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) given the high risk of adverse outcome preventable with prompt initiation of differentiating therapy. Accurate AML diagnosis would allow incorporation of monoclonal or targeted therapy leading to improved clinical outcome.
