Interpretation of Blood Clotting Studies
摘要
Evaluation of elevated activated partial thromboplastin (aPTT) time and prothrombin time (PT) is a critical reason for consultation during the inpatient hematology rotation. In this chapter, we illustrate common etiologies for increased PTT and PT. Additionally, we propose known workflow to better approximate therapy. Management should always include addressing precipitating factors, especially underpinning autoimmune disorders that could have initiated anticoagulation factors antibodies.
