Maxwell’s Equations for Nanosize Devices with Quantum Effects

Quantum-corrected models incorporate quantum-mechanical effects, enabling the accurate calculations of optical properties for plasmonic dimers with sub-nanometer gaps within a classical electromagnetic framework. The model also predicts that inserting a molecule into the gap of the plasmonic dimer can facilitate the excitation of tunnelling charge transfer plasmons (CTPs) in larger gaps, allowing for the experimental observation and precise control of tunnelling CTPs.
