Recent Clinical Applications of Biomaterials in Tissue Engineering

This chapter represents recent applications of biomaterials regenerative medicine, and their evaluation clinically for bone, cartilage, skin, liver, vascular tissue, and skeletal muscles. The function and anatomical composition are reviewed to show the ideal scaffold properties and tissue regeneration conditions required to achieve tissue reconstruction. This presentation will serve to illustrate of challenge facing the application of biomaterials in the treatment of diseased tissue and regenerate tissue in Chap. 5 .
