Mitochondrial Diseases

Mitochondrial diseases represent a heterogeneous group of diseases associated with mitochondrial dysfunction. Primary mitochondrial diseases are associated with genetic disorders of nDNA or mtDNA. Secondary mitochondrial diseases are caused by external factors. The development and application of new diagnostic approaches as well as the latest therapeutic procedures contribute to early diagnosis and prospective therapy of mitochondrial diseases.
