The global communities face serious challenges due to the rising epidemic of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. The understanding that brown adipose tissueAdipose tissuebrown adipose tissue is crucial for regulation of metabolic processes has led to a rise in interest in the therapeutic potential of brown adipose tissue. Adipose tissue’s intricacy offers several difficulties as well as multiple chances for therapeutic intervention. Enhancement of beige or brown adipocyte activity, or both, may be particularly beneficial in treating metabolic syndrome. Furthermore, a wide range of pathways and variables are now potentially targetable for therapeutic outcomes. Particularly, there has been a lot of interest in identification of circulating substances that improve the function of brown and beige fat. Currently, some of the most promising molecular targets for promoting Brown Adipose tissue thermogenesisThermogenesis include orexin, irisin, BNP/ANP, BMP7, BMP8b, Cox-2 and Fgf-21, though their overall actions in other facets of metabolism and physiology require further investigation. Additional studies have examined the effects of regulators of brown adipogenesis such as PRDM16, a transcriptional co-regulator that is responsible for development of brown adipocytesAdipocytes. Knowledge regarding brown adipose tissueAdipose tissuebrown adipose tissue activation and white adipose tissueAdipose tissuewhite adipose tissue browning could be useful in planning innovative strategies to help prevent and manage metabolic syndrome.
