摘要

Ceropegia is a plant genus facing threats due to its medicinal potential and habitat loss. It is represented in India by 62 species, out of which 44 are endemic to the peninsular region. Ceropegia anjanerica Malpure, M.Y. Kamble & S.R. Yadav is an “Endangered” endemic species as per the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species 2021. This review focuses on the understanding of the current status of the genus with respect to its medicinal values, possible threats to its natural habitat, and conservation strategies, including propagation methods, to be undertaken for its protection.
