Arthroscopically Assisted Fracture Treatment

If no comminution is present, displaced fractures of the capitulum, the radial head, and the coronoid process are amenable to arthroscopically assisted reduction and internal fixation. Arthroscopy facilitates not only fracture reduction but also the evaluation of associated injuries around the elbow joint. After anatomic fracture reduction, K-wires are placed for temporary fixation. Subsequently, headless cannulated compression screws are placed over the K-wires for stable fixation of the fracture. This chapter focuses on the details and particularities of arthroscopically assisted fracture treatment around the elbow.
