Recognizing particular hand gestures and utilize them to transfer information or control things is one of the main objectives of gesture recognition system. The proposed system mainly focuses on situations where we multitask, i.e., work on various applications or run multiple desktop programs at the same time while listening to background music playing in one of the windows. Occasionally, we have to execute particular movements during a stop or change the song, likewise opening the music window and carrying out the necessary task. This method requires considerable time and work to finish. With the music controller, all we have to do is wave or make a simple hand gesture in front of the webcam to change or pause a specific piece of music that is playing. This saves time and helps us stay focused on the task at hand, without requiring switching between multiple multimedia players.
