An Optimal Fuzzy Controller Design Method Based on Hedge Algebra and PSO Algorithm

In this paper, a fuzzy controller design method based on hedge algebra is proposed. According to this method, the membership function of the fuzzy set is built from the corresponding linguistic terms in hedge algebra. The variation of parameters in hedge algebra will lead to changes in membership functions. To adjust the parameters of the membership functions towards optimality for the controller is done by adjusting the parameters of the hedge algebra. The optimization technique used in this study is the PSO algorithm. This is a popular and effective algorithm in optimizing multi-parameter systems. Through this design method, an optimal fuzzy controller based on the Sugeno model was applied to test the control of the Fan and Plate system. The optimal standard used is the integration standard according to the absolute value of the error. Simulation results show that the controller works well with this object.
