Positive Experiences of the PI, Value of the PI, Information-Sharing, Improvements

  • Michael Harris

摘要

The objectives for this book are to 1. Explore the attitudes of police officers to Prevention Interviews (PI) of adults. 2. Explore the attitudes of police officers to PI of children. 3. Examine whether the PI should be the responsibility of third sector partners. This chapter reveals some results from 34 survey questions, answered by 1,936 police constables, responding on their views for managing the return of repeatedly missing people. The anonymous questionnaire was split into themes, designed to explore the Prevention Interview (PI) with both quantitative and qualitative questions. This chapter reports positive experiences that officers had of the PI, the value of the PI that they reported, what information-sharing took place, and what improvements officers thought could be made to the PI. Empirical support emerges for a Frustrated-Safeguarder Identity within police culture.
